Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy a Class C RV?
If you’re in the market for a motorhome, you’ll find that Class C motorhomes fit nicely in between Class A and Class B models; not too big, not too small. Class Cs are great if you don’t need a huge floorplan, but don’t want to feel cramped. They have the distinct over-cab area, and many drivers find them just as comfortable to handle as a large truck or cargo van. Some other reasons to buy a Class C motorhome include:
- The ability to turn the key, get up and go quickly
- Access to the living area while driving
- You don’t have or don’t plan on buying a tow vehicle
- More service options
- Generous tank sizes
- High towing capacity
What is a Super C Class RV?
Super C motorhomes, like our Seneca and Seneca Prestige, are built on a heavy-duty chassis with a more powerful, typically-diesel, engine than standard Class Cs. They offer the option for more living space and more power without having to commit to a full-sized Class A bus. The added size and power also allows for some of the highest towing capacities in the motorhome world. The Seneca, for example, has a GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of 31,000 lbs., a GCWR (gross combined weight rating) of 43,000 lbs., and a 12,000-lb. hitch.
Can a Class C motorhome tow a car?
Yes, most Class C motorhomes can safely tow thousands of pounds. The Jayco Redhawk Class C, for example, has a GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of 14,500 lbs., a GCWR (gross combined weight rating) of 22,000 lbs., and a 7,500-lb. hitch.
